i like the pic a lot, and i really like a lot all your historical pics (although i must admit, im always a bit skeptical about tattoes xP) but i've never seen a lamellar armor with that "two pectorals" leather piece, it's peculiar :D where did you see it?

Almost all the references I could find from the Avars came from Osprey books and Angus McBride. So, the leather pectorals are taken from that.

Avar warrior taking a selfie! I am kidding, haha, this looks great! I especially like how the sabre is blurred out because it is out of focus. Excellent work!

The details are so unbelievable, right down to the rough edges of the leather straps. Absolutely stunning.

Thank you!!
They were from the Eurasian steppe, but they established a khanate in the Pannonian Basin during the Early Middle Ages

Actually, nobody knows. The term is first mention mid 5th Century, but as a people they first appear mid 6th Century at the Caspian steppe region. A group of warlike nomads trying to escape from the rule of the Gökturks. There are indication (mainly language based) that originally they weren't a homogeneous group but rather a coalition of tribes and bands of rather varied origin.

at the end, almost none of these migrations were homogeneous, back from the first indoeuropeans strolls in western Europe xD

i remember that in the Historia Langobardorum by Paolo Diacono they are always mentioned (uhm forgive the aproximate english translation) as " [...] the Avars -which are also called Huns" always with the same formula, repeating it so much that at a certain point i was like "OOOOH goddamn i got it, i friggin understood they are theavarswhicharealsocalledhuns jeez!" xD

Excelent pic! I like specially the details of the armour and as the light reflects over the metal.

On other hand over the blade I think that I can see the shadow of his enemy.....maybe an eastern roman or a frank?

I see that you're from Spain, así que me ahorras tener que traducirlo todo.
